Leonberg showcases expressive movement paired with elasticity and power. This proven International Grand Prix winner had a successful career culminating in multiple wins with Mikala Gundersen.
Leonberg is a perfect match for mares who are long in the back and need to improve their movement. He passes on a steady temperament and produces drop dead gorgeous offspring with the same uphill conformation and elastic movement.
At Grand Prix, Leonberg won multiple CDI with impressive scores and placings. At the Palm Beach Derby CDI-W, he swept both the CDI Grand Prix classes. In the Grand Prix Freestyle Leo earned a 73.25%. He also won the Kentucky Cup CDI*** Grand Prix special with a score of 70.79%, and in the Exquis World Dressage Masters***** Grand Prix Freestyle he received a 72.20% (fifth place). In the Gold Coast Opener CDI-W Grand Prix Freestyle Leonberg scored a 71.80% (second place).
Leonberg and Mikala Gundersen spent two summers competing as a member of the Danish national team in Europe. They contested both the CHIO Aachen and the Danish Championships. At CDIO Rotterdam, the pair put in an impressive performance and took fifth place and a score of 73.95% in the Grand Prix Freestyle. In 2010, Leonberg was the alternate for the Danish team at the World Equestrian Games. He also received top placing scores in the 70’s at the Gold Coast Opener CDI-W, Wellington Classic Spring Dressage Challenge CDI and the Palm Beach Derby CDI-W.
As Leonberg is half Thoroughbred, he brings blood needed by many mares in breeding programs today.
All of his foals to date have been awarded Premium and he has produced one licensed son. Leonberg’s pedigree is producing great movers who can also be well-rounded athletes. Carrying the blood of Ramiro Z and Graphit, his offspring show considerable jumping talent as well.
